Question 200mb disk space

PowWeb state that you get 200mb. Very well.

Does that include mySQL database sizes?

Example: if you have a mySQL database that is 12MB big (for arguments sake) does that mean you have 12MB subtracted from the 200MB total?

Question

Just out of curiosity... how big is the average MySQL database?

more than 200mb

Is it possible to have more than 200mb?

I know that I will need more - I currently use 600mb space with DSVR.co.uk

Your set-up looks good and prices competitive but I cannot use you if I would be restricted to 200mb

Many thanks

Here's all the additional services and prices at this time.

http://www.powweb.com/additional.html

extra 5mb=$1/month

So doing the math what would that be $80 for the extra 400.

Question excess storage in multiple accounts...

Why couldn't a web designer who wsa growing over 200 Meg
purchase two accounts, and divide his/her data into logical
sections?

For instance, if they had two accounts:
named sample1, and sample2
couldn't they keep most of their 'base' web site under sample1,
but migrate all of their multimedia files, ans some of their mySQL
database over to the sample2 account?

That way, if their total storage was 350 Meg, they could put
175 in one account, and 175 in the other (roughly) and have
a final bill of under $20 per month, instead of paying $8 many
times ofer, for each 5 Meg extra storage...

They would probably have to modify some of their code, but it
sounds like a valid aproach. Of course, you still have the same
bandwith restrictions....

What other suggestions do the Pow-Web folks have, for any
web folks who grow large enough to pass the size & bandwidth
limits for your account..?

What percentage of your customers exceed the 200 Mb size?
What percentage of your customers exceed the 16G quota ?

I realize that you are wanting to focus on a particular market segment - but it would seem that some of you sites that become
more successful are going to grow to a point that they feel that
they -must- move away, if charges grow so steeply...

I would be interested in that info, as well. I'm currently using about 8G/month in bandwidth, which leaves me lots of room to grow, but there may come a day when I need a higher rate of transfer. My site is graphics-intensive (I publish comics online), so eventually, I'll need more bandwidth. Probably not soon, though. Do you think you may be able to host higher-traffic sites, in the future? I will probably go with you, now, regardless, as your package looks like a great deal!
