Tear this website apart

Hello everyone,

I just set up this website http://www.lagosestores.com/printing (took me 6 hrs yesterday to design from scratch and upload) to see how effective the site can be. In other words can a website like this attract customers the way it's put together? I have seen some websites handling printing but never get convinced on ordering for cards or stationeries because I don't see enough samples to choose from and wouldn't be happy paying for something someone else will make the final choice for me.

Criticisms are welcome, both constructive ones and the not too friendly ones.

Thanks in advance.

The red text in the header looks blurry. There are no colorful examples on the home page. "Hey! Credit cards not accepted on this site." just scares people away! Instead, mention the payment methods you DO accept here.

Looks like another editor site, I am guessing Dreamweaver. Since you used rectangular buttons, you could simulate buttons using CSS for a quicker load time. The examples of business cards looked blurry. Maybe I am tired.

Please include <meta http-equiv="imagetoolbar" content="no"> to keep the annoying IE toolbar from appearing when pointing at your images.

There is no About Us page that says this business has been serving Nigeria for 2 years.... or whatever. You mention items you print, but no details. Do you require an image for printing as a jpg, psd, eps or what format? Do you use Adobe Photoshop, Corel Draw or another image software? What quality paper do you use? Any testimonials?

Nothing made me want to buy here. Dazzle me! I want to see color, specifications, qualifications, credibility, and variety. Your terms and conditions are not specified and I did not see a refund or privacy policy.

I said enough for now. I need to leave something for others to say.

Next week? I expect it done by tomorrow! Hey, at least you have the layout done. Remember, I simply act like a typical Internet user when I review the site. Then I act like a web designer when I tell you how to improve it. Visitors have so many choices that they don't buy from the first site they see, just the one that impresses them most.

Good luck!

Thanks.

You are really a dependable and reliable person. Since the layout is ok, I will effect the changes this week, I guess that's better that next week.

My regards to your family.

If you have a digital camera, you can take photos of your products. You can display a business card, letterhead paper, envelopes, brochures and other things on a table or desk for a group photo to include on your home page. Use your own company for the example.

Let me know if/when you want me to look at your site again. Thanks for the kind words. Best wishes to your family as well.
