Question osCommerce Installed, /catalog?

Hi,
I installed osCommerce through my sitemanager. It asked which folder to install in and to leave the field blank if I wanted it in my root folder. I tried leaving it blank, but when I clicked ok, it would just reload the screen and ask me again. I ended up just putting a / on it and left it at that. I followed all of the instructions left by jade dragon to install and secure, but when I type in www.gershas.com (my page) I just get "index of" and it lists my folders. But if I type www.gershas.com/catalog I get the page right. What did I do wrong? I wanted oscommerce to be my home page. I have read the other posts, and they say to reinstall to the htdocs which I did, but I had to put the / afterwards or it wouldn't let me go any further.
please help

I am not familiar with the sitemanager install, and it seems to cause problems for some people. You could probably ask support to move all the files from /catalog to the top level, but if it were me, I would download the osCommerce distribution, unpack to my local PC, and then upload where I wanted it. You should have a local copy of your files anyway.
