Suddly one of my DB Tables is unreachable!!

All fo a sudden, in the middle of showing my site to an assistan, one of my database tables no longer replys any inforamtion. I checked through phpMyAdmin, and the table is still there. All other tables, still function normaly, as far as I can see. I made no changes to any of my code, or to the table its self. However, ALL PAGES taht use that table, are replying said error when i try to run a GET query.

Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/tmp/mysql.sock' (2)

Please what can I do!? I will try and assist any research into the problem, as this has fully and entirly halted all progross on site development.
