search engines have not picked my site up yet. The site was created at the end of May. I made many manual submissions besides the 40 powweb sites. I'm way open to suggestions.
You can probably guess, it's my first site. It's complete with the exception of the photo galleries. http://www.rivercitiescorvette.org I'm club prez and webmaster Don |

r2vettes,
Well you have given the search engines very little to work with. I looked at your code and you need to work with your meta tags. <title>give a descriptive tiltle to the page instead of the page url</title> no keywords tag and no description tag. Also you really need to get some text on your pages if possible.

You can find lots of advice on how to get your website listed with search engines at:
http://hotwired.lycos.com/webmonkey/ which is a site devoted to helping people of all experience levels in creating websites. Just enter "search engines" in their 'Search' box and you'll pull up doxens of articles filled with good advice. The titles should tell you which articles to start with. Each search engine has its own set of criteria as to whether or not a site gets listed, and what ranking to give it, but a key factor in just about all search engines is the number of other sites that link to yours. A good way to do this is to offer to exchange links with the webmasters of other sites that are related to yours in some way. Start with getting your <TITLE> and <META> tags optimized for search engines first as the previous responder suggested (the WebMonkey articles will tell you how), but cross-linking will definitely help. Good luck! Richard L. Trethewey www.rainbo.net |

Keep in mind
When you submit a site to a engine more than once. They sometimes delete your submissions.1 submission is accurate in their eyes...
