Issues after migration

Howdy Ya'll

First let me explain the situation I have been put into. I am the "admin" for the Texas A&M University Motorcycle Club webpage. The site was created by somone else and ran smoothly even after this person left. I was lucky enough to be the one to take over temporary admin duties until we found someone with experience to replace the previous admin. I have no real experience with any of the administration aspects, but have figured out how to manage the forum through its admistrator panel as well as some minor things inside of mambo used for our front page.

Please bear with my as I am completly lost. Our problems arose after the site was migrated. I was unaware this was happening until it was too late and never really noticed any issues until recently (the problems started after migration but no one picked up on them for a while). I have the common coppermine error in which I am supposed to change the path to imagemajick. I have no idea where I need to go to change the path, i have searched high and low to no avail. Second, all the account emails have quit working, I can no longer send mass emails from the forum admin pages. Thirdly, all documentation inside of the mambo page no longer has valid links. I know this is a lot to handle, but can someone point me in the correct direction? Is there some webpages or tutorials I can read to play catchup on some of the basic setup of the board. We use phpbb for the forum, coppermine for the gallery, and mambo for the front page.

I have used filezilla to ftp into the server to save all of the htdocs files (is this the correct way to back everything up?) incase i run into problems trying to fix the site. I know this is a lot to ask, but I am completely lost and am hoping someone cant point me in the right direction. The gallery is the most pressing problem as its the most used feature of the nonworking components.

Any help greatly appreciated.

Adam

Adam -

TO change the path to imagemagik you need to go into the configuration page for Copermine. There's a path there for it.

As for the particular path that it needs to be, you should be able to search these forums for something like 'imagemajik path' or the like where someone else has asked the same question, without a doubt.

As for the email issue, have you tried calling or emailing the PowWeb support staff?

As for the documents, what kind of error is it giving you? Is it pointing to the right place for these documents?

Thanks Jan, Gallery is back in buisness. I will research the other issues a little more as I just discovered they didnt work.

The documents just dont show up, as if the path on the page no longer is correct to their location.

You will need to check those paths to make sure they are using the new one, listed in your new OPs > Services > HTTP page - The Document Root path
