probably something simple
ok, my site attempted to auto migrate awhile back but failed. then support staff made the migration for me, i think. they said it was complete and wanted me to report if everything was working ok which it was and which i did.
i have run into my first problem with one of my pointer domains when i attempted to get this new site setup. i have an htaccess file edited so my domain, www.allclearks.com directs to a folder called ac that resides within my htdocs. it does this just fine and i have an under construction index.html page within that folder which shows when you go to www.allclearks.com. i created a folder named forum inside the ac folder, then uploaded all my smf install files to it, but when i try to point to the install.php i get a 404 error page saying the page i am looking for might have been renamed, removed or is temp unavailable. i can point to folders and files i had within the ac folder before the migration but anything afterwards it wont point to. i even tried dumping a jpg file into the ac folder and it shows the 404 page when i point my browser to it. i am lost on what is causing this, any ideas? |

The FTP server for the new platform is ftp.powweb.com, where the Legacy FTP address is ftpnn.powweb.com. Perhaps you're u/l'ing files to the wrong address?

Yes, those files are on the Legacy *old* servers. You can still access those files and all of your original files using your old ftp0X.powweb.com hostname. |

First off, I am about as computer savy as a clam! That being said, before the migration I was able to fumble my way through and get my site published, and before the migration I was able to edit said site. Now, I cannot edit jack because I can't find out how to do it! The FTP management screens are a comedy of continuous loops, and to top it all off, my site not gets ZERO traffic!! That is with a capital Z. I'm completely lost in this system and totally frustrated. OH, BTW, read some glowing reports about phone service....... drug induced lunacy....yeah, that has to be the answer. I waited 45 ,minutes on hold. That's ridiculous! HELP!!! where do I start unraveling this thing. My name is not Alexander!
