Move package to another account
Hi, I have an account with Powweb for a while now with a few packages... one of which was for a friend. He recently set up a new domain/site and I got him to get his own account/package with Powweb.
Is there a way that I can move a package from my account to his new account? So that he can maintan the package and it will be charged using his payment method? Do I have to contact billing directly to do this? Thanks in advance for your help... |

I am confused by your terminology of account and package. I thought these were the same unless you have multiple domains hosted on your account.
Can you clarify how this is set-up for you? |

With the old Powweb you could manage several hosting packages from one main OPs account. One OPs login and then select which package that you wished to work with.
Since the buyout things have changed, you should have a separate login for each account/package now. All you'd need to do is to turn over that account/package to your friend and maybe contact billing to get the credit card changed out. |

Thanks for the help... I have logged in as the other package and updated the credit card details for it. I though it may be possible to move the package to the other account so they could both be on the same credit card and contact details etc etc.... Not to worry this will work fine.
My understanding of the package/account is probably different and confused by the changes made when the buyout happened... I saw an 'account' as a log in with credit card details etc, that had 1 or more 'packages' in it. By 'package' I mean the different domains and hosting etc for each site. Thanks again for the help... |

I can log into each package seperately, or switch between them. The billing and owner details can be edited separately but can be the same.

Then it's been changed. After the migration I had to use separate OPs logins for each one of my packages. Those packages had originally been accessible with just one OPs login and then you could select which package you wished to work with.

To clarify:
1) There is really no such thing as a package anymore! Just an account. Each account has a Plan -- generally the "One Plan". 2) Each account can/should have its own billing (assigned credit card), domains, etc. 3) There is a "Client Manager" that can let you link multiple accounts to a main account -- there are still separate accounts each with an independent username -- the utility simply lets you select any of the attached accounts quickly ... To either add to, or reduce confusion -- I'm not sure which -- we currently still list the title area of this feature on the Main Tab as "Manage your packages". 4) You can sign-up new accounts and add them to your Client Manager 5) You cannot have the contents of an account moved to a different server, different pool or different planet by Support! (that breaks things badly) ... you can, of course, upload whatever you want from one account to another ... 6) You can remove a domain from one account and add it to a different account, using Domain Central on each of the accounts -- assuming the nameservers are resolving to our servers, this allows a domain to settle between accounts in about an hour.

Could Powweb help a person transfer a website (PostNuke) from one hosting provider over to Powweb?
