MIC Problems

I feel weird posting a hardware problem on a webservers forum but anyways. My mic is built into my monitor, but it doesn't work. I really don't know what else to say, lol. It just doesn't work...

Always start with the simple things first.

Did you check your volume setting to make sure the MIC is not muted?

Is it plugged in? (I am sure you aleady checked this but you have to start somewhere)

Is it plugged into the right port on you sound card?

Yes, the sound is up . But I am guessing it is plugged in since it is built into my monitor. It used to work fine until I moved the computer (took it from one room to another).

I guess I should have asked this first, is your system a Mac or a PC?

What flavor or Windows or Mac OS are you using?

Check the back of the monitor for a jack, If it has one you will need a regular 1/8 mono cord to plug the mic out from the back of the monitor to the mic in of your sound card. Make sure to double click the speaker icon (in windows) and un-mute the mic then test it. this should solve the plm unless the mic or the soundcard are defective.
