How do I find out where to upload my stuff at? This way I can use my redirection URL from crappy tripod to this, and upload it via frontpage.
See I don't know what my powweb URL is because I already own a name (i.am instead of .com)

What is the domain name you have registered? Then we can go from there.

Well if it helps, I didn't register a .com because I already had a .i.am. So I didn't really need a .com as a URL fowarding thingie. Thing is I dunno what my domain name is. Maybe this picture will help a bit?

You have to have a Fully Quailified Domain name pointing to Powweb servers to use the service. If I'm wrong someone will correct me.

So if that's the case (just to make things easier) I would upload my stuff at magnatar.powweb.com via Frontpage or FTP?

Yes you can use that. With your user name and password that come with you setup email info.
What domain name did you give when you signed up for the package?

By the sound of it, it looks like I DON'T upload to magnatar.powweb.com, I think it was eggo.us, or biz. One of those two dunno how to find out cuz I thought I didn't need it since I have that redirection thing.

Login to OPS with your username and password and all your info will be there. Also in the History there should a copy of the email setup info if you don't have handy.
I don't get a temp page for either. http://eggous.powweb.com/ http://eggobiz.powweb.com/ This was registered at Register.com recently. Is that you. http://www.eggo.biz/ If so you need to point it to powweb servers.

Well the history tells me nothing. But when I went to DomReg, I get this in red letters...
You currently do not have any domains registered through PowWeb. I've tried the search thing. The only one available is eggo.us, but I hafta pay to get that? I don't want to pay, I already paid for http://www.i.am

From what I can see and I think I am correct you have a subsomain supplied by i.am I don't think you will be able to use that one. What you have is a subdomain of i.am
Anyone can jump in here if they want and help me clear this up. s-wings

eggo,
You will need to go to https://home.v3.com/app/domainmanager and log in. Once you've logged in, you'll need to look for an option that lets you set up your domain's nameservers. Currently, it appears that your site is hosted at FortuneCity using V3's "i.am" domain. Can't help you any more than that since I don't use their redirection service. You'll need to do this within the next two to three weeks to allow time for the nameserver change to propagate throughout the Internet. Your temporary URL per the e-mail you should've received is http://eggoiam.powweb.com/. So, to upload content, use your ftp client to go to that address. You can also ftp into magnatar.powweb.com, the server that hosts your package. Be sure to use the package's login when you ftp in, not your account's login (unless they happen to be the same, of course). Hope that helps... Robert |

Hi EGGO
If I understand this correctly, you will need to hug addy real tight, because in thirty days the TEMP addy "http://eggoiam.powweb.com" will go away, gone, banished from the earth. Before then you will have to have (and pay for) a FULL-domain name registered to you. Currently it looks like you have (and paid for) a SUB-domain name on I.AM. After 30 days your TEMP name here goes away, then your FULL-domain name will be hosted on powweb. If I did not understand this thread, and you already have a FULL-domain name, then I am sorry and will accept the lashing with wet noodles I deserve. ;-) |

From what I read on V3.com, they redirect subdomains, allowing nameserver definitions for those subs. The "i.am" domain is like the "go.to" or "come.to" family.
Notice that his current host is FortuneCity. So, he can have eggo.i.am to be hosted here. Now, fighting Kellog's lawyers over the trademark violation in the use of "Eggo(r)" is a different matter... ![]() Robert |

On this one I am like a goose flying south in the summer. I really don't know which way to go. I thought a package had to have a Fully Quailified Domain, but in fact the site is being hosted as Robert says and he is daMAN on this DNS stuff.

Ok,
A little devil has told me if when you signed for your package and you entered eggo.i.am for your domain name and you do just what Robert said and this will work.
